From early November 2019 until early January 2020, I will have 11 of my African wildlife images on display in Caffiend Cafe on Grafton Street, Cairns.
If you've already been by and seen them, thank-you - I hope you loved them!
If you haven't and you are in town, get on down and have yourself one of the best coffees in town - It'll be accompanied by brilliant food, served by excellent staff and enjoyed in the presence of some of Africa's most spectacular wild animals.
To see what images are on display without going in, scroll down to the Gallery below. They're much better in person though - just saying ;)
Along with each image I've written a short story. The main section is a tale about each animal's behaviours, a little African life perspective, or some insight into the moment I took the photo. I've also included a name section, listing the common, scientific and various African language names for each species; and an IUCN-based conservation status, so you know how the species is faring.
I'm making a point to share these on my social media platforms too... If you'd like to see the image-and-story combo in digital form, you can find them on my Facebook page.
The pinnacle of this display will be a Meet the Artist night hosted at Caffiend on Friday 13th December from 6pm. If you'd like to come and have a chat about photography, travel, what it's like to Safari in Africa, or discuss the images in particular - or you just want to see the photos at night (they're better at night under the gallery lighting), please come and join me. There will be tasty food platters/canapes, and a bar where you can order all your usual alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the best coffee in town, and some sensational cocktails too.
